Over the past 10 years, I’ve participated with the Team in Training organization riding around Lake Tahoe (100 miles) raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. During these rides, I’ve made a number of great friends.
Earlier this year, I learned one of those friends from Team in Training, Rich Barbosa, had recently received news that his wife, Kathy, was diagnosed with a very rare cancer, Cholangiocarcinoma known as Bile Duct Cancer.
This year a number of the TNT riders decided to ride for Kathy and the “Bili Project Foundation” with a goal of raising 100,000 to fund the "Kathy Barboza Young Investigator Award". This award will go towards studying targeted therapies for this rare cancer. The Bili Foundation has currently raised approx. $93,000........
If cancer has touched your life and you’d like to help fund the research for a cure, please consider supporting our effort.
I will be riding this year, as I do every year, with my cousin Lisa.
