Hello, everyone,
I am participating in Team Bridge for my third year in a row. I strongly believe in all that The Bridge of Storm Lake stands for. They make a tremendous difference in the lives of the youth in Storm Lake. We are so fortunate to have an organization filled with people who are so caring and dedicated to helping others. I want to do all I can to help support their efforts. Therefore, I currently am on the Board of Directors for The Bridge, I assist with finding additional volunteers for some of their projects when necessary, and I help with fundraising for their fall banquet and this race.
Unfortunately, I am going to be out of town on the weekend of the Run For Our Future, but I still want to be involved. I will actually be in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on June 22 participating in a different type of race. I have been partnered with a young man named Jared Brown, who is in a wheelchair, through the I Run 4 organization since February of 2014. I dedicate my runs to him since he is unable to run. June 22 happens to be his 23rd birthday, so I am going to visit him to celebrate his birthday. First though, we are going to participate together in a Tri for Inclusion. I will assist him in the running and riding portions of a short triathalon. I promise to do an additional 5K run at some point that weekend as my replacement run for not being here to participate in The Bridge's Run For Our Future. I will definitely be there in spirit despite being over 1200 miles away!
I hope you will support me in reaching my goal of helping The Bridge of Storm Lake. You can donate securely online or you can contact me individually to learn where to send a check.
Ryan
