Building Bridges Across the River (BBAR) is a 2019 Charity Partner for the Marine Corps Marathon 10k event. The 6.2 mile race takes place on Sunday, October 27, 2019 - the same day as the Marine Corps Marathon, one of the most popular marathons in the country! And I'll be running!

About Building Bridges Across the River:
BBAR improves the quality of life for children and adults who reside east of the Anacostia River by providing leadership, management and financial oversight of the Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Campus (THEARC), 11th Street Bridge Park, BBAR Farms, THEARC Theater and Skyland Workforce Center. Through these projects, BBAR uses a multi-sector approach to address significant social, health, environmental & economic disparities that exist in DC.
As THEARC’s managing partner, BBAR is the engine behind all of the facility’s services and programs. The organization oversees and maintains the campus grounds, and fosters collaboration between THEARC’s resident partners.
Today, BBAR is expanding its footprint, leading programming and partnerships at THEARC, THEARC Theater, BBAR Farms, Skyland Workforce Center and the 11th Street Bridge Park. Through these collaborations, BBAR provides access to high quality educational, health, cultural, recreation, and social service programs which contribute to the revitalization of the community in southeast Washington.
