Growing up I always had the loving support of an amazing family and a place to call home. The support I received from my family helped me to overcome my fears and accomplish my goals and dreams. As I train to accomplish my seventh marathon (fourth half marathon) this spring, I am running to support the wonderful organization Angels' Arms for my second year in a row. Last year I surpassed my $300 goal and raised $350. I hope to meet my goal again this spring with your help!
Angels' Arms has helped change the lives of over 400 children in the St. Louis, Ballwin, Florissant, South County, and O'Fallon areas. Through their 12 foster homes, the organization gives children the chance to be a part of a family and gives them a place to call home, while keeping siblings together. Angels' Arms provides not only a home, but a life for these foster children. The organization helps to provide clothing and shoes, sports camps and equipment, dental and eye care, monthly activities and birthdays, school supplies and tutoring, music lessons and instruments, tickets to local sporting events, and access to adopt-a-family programs. The children while in these homes get to experience life to its fullest and they get the opportunity to live out their childhood. Foster children deserve the chance to be children, to be part of a family, and to live up to their full potential- and Angels' Arms provides this.
By knowing the importance of family and seeing how much my childhood has influenced who I am today, I hold the organization Angels' Arms very close to my heart. As an education major, I know first hand the difference a home life makes in the classroom as well. Their work is truly setting these children up to successful and well-rounded individuals in homes where the children feel loved and supported. Please help to support me in raising and exceeding my fundraising goal as I run my foruth half marathon for Angels' Arms!
