Though I am not a player this year, BvB Dallas continues to be an organization that is near and dear to my heart. The past two summers were unforgettable – I had the opportunity to play a sport that I love, make lifelong friends, and contribute to a cause that has greatly impacted my family, along with millions of others worldwide. Alzheimer’s continues to be a national crisis; it is the only disease among the top 10 causes of death in America that cannot be prevented, cured, or even slowed. One person is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or other Dementia every 66 seconds. As an alumnus, I am continuing to raise money through BvB Dallas to support organizations such as UT Southwestern Medical Center, the UNT Health Science Center, The Senior Source, and The Center for Brain Health to advance Alzheimer’s research and critical services for Alzheimer’s patients. Your support is greatly appreciated by all who have lost their battle, by my 91-year-old Nana and everyone currently living with Alzheimer’s, and by future generations who we hope never face the reality of this devastating disease.
