That's me with the lei and part of my KOMO Morning family.
Never did I imagine "Cancer Survivor" would be a chapter in my story. But life happened, I'm proud to be here to say I beat it after more than a year of treatment and surgeries. I was diagnosed at 33 while juggling being a mommy to my one-year-old son, a wife and busy journalist.
The thing about cancer is it doesn't care about our dreams. Doesn't discriminate, isn't concerned with what we look like or how old we are.
We do have power in this. How so, you ask? We can target our energy in rallying around survivors, those who will fight it in the future and putting our money towards research. I know I found comfort in that. Let's make a difference - TOGETHER.
