This year I will be running my first Boston Marathon as part of the TB12 Foundation. Not only is this my first Boston Marathon but my first marathon in general. To run for such an incredible foundation is truly an honor, and as someone who grew up in Massachusetts representing TB12 is a dream come true. Now in my early 30’s, running has fulfilled the competitiveness I was missing from the sports I grew up playing. My running “career” began with 5K’s and other short road races. Eventually, those races grew into running longer distances while raising money for charities. To be able to train and run for something bigger than myself is something I am so grateful for. Raising money for the TB12 Foundation has pushed me further in my training on days I don’t feel like running that last mile or the weather is less then ideal.
I have committed myself to raising $12,000 and with your help and support I will not only race past that goal and sprint through that finish line!
Helping Athletes Maximize Their Health and Potential – The TB12 Foundation was founded in 2015 by six-time Super Bowl champion New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Its mission is to empower athletes everywhere to do what he’s done in his own storied career – keep going despite the odds. We aim to help athletes improve longevity, prevent injury and stay on the field, court, track or course doing what they love better — and for longer. The TB12 Foundation has been able to help at-risk athletes access the practitioners and programming they need — including pliability treatments, functional strength & conditioning, and advice related to nutrition, hydration, and cognitive health — to overcome injuries or obstacles that would otherwise keep them sidelined.
