Hello everyone! I am overwhelmed with excitement to announce I will be running the 2020 Boston marathon in support of Tom Brady’s organization TB12 Foundation!
A Colombian American woman born in Miami, FL, I moved to Massachusetts to attend Mount Holyoke, an all women's college, where I had the pleasure of running for the Track and Cross Country teams. Unfortunately, during a 400m race an athlete’s spike grazed my knee cap and tore my ACL, leading to near inoperable damage.
Due to financial difficulites, I waited years to get the surgery I needed, and the damage deteriorated further to my meniscus.
When I had my ACL and Lateral Meniscus surgery in 2018 it was such a physical and mental challenge. I can’t imagine adding financial strain to that; especially in our current healthcare system. What Tom Brady is doing for individuals like me is truly incredible, TB12 empowers those at-risk to overcome economic or health-related obstacles to reach their performance goals. I’m deeply honored to run the Boston marathon a year and a half post operation while supporting an organization I hold in the highest regard.
I'd love for you to consider donating and helping me reach my fundraising goal! No amount is too small! Thank you in advance!
Below you’ll find more information about the TB12 Foundation!
The TB12 Foundation is focused on serving at-risk athletes and others who would not ordinarily be able to access or afford high-quality post-injury rehabilitation and/or performance enhancement training.
Helping Athletes Maximize Their Health and Potential – The TB12 Foundation was founded in 2015 by six-time Super Bowl champion New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Its mission is to empower athletes everywhere to do what he’s done in his own storied career – keep going despite the odds. We aim to help athletes improve longevity, prevent injury and stay on the field, court, track or course doing what they love better — and for longer. The TB12 Foundation has been able to help at-risk athletes access the practitioners and programming they need — including pliability treatments, functional strength & conditioning, and advice related to nutrition, hydration, and cognitive health — to overcome injuries or obstacles that would otherwise keep them sidelined.
