There are 25.4 million refugees in the world, more than ever before. Over half are children. But as fewer and fewer refugees are permitted into the US and as the US cuts funding for international relief organizations, existing non-profits are struggling to stay open. So, I’m dedicating this 1100 mile trek to the children of the Refugee and Asylee community. My goal is to raise 10 dollars for every mile I trek in this wild wild journey (+100 for every 17.5k ft peak)!
Funds raised for the 120 mile Annapurna Circuit Trek will go to the The Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights. The Young Center is a champion for the rights and best interests of unaccompanied immigrant children. This organization provides child advocates, attorneys, and social workers to this highly vulnerable population.
