The Stratton Foundation is a community 501-C(3) non-profit organization with the mission to fight generational poverty in southern Vermont.
Vermont is a great place to relax and play, but just beyond the mountain is another Vermont -- one in which, depending on the town, 40-90% of families live in economic hardship and life is difficult. Through our experience, we have learned that to fight poverty, we must focus on the children who often go without basic necessities, like warm winter coats, dental and health care, boots and shoes, or a meal in the evening after the school day ends. The Stratton Foundation endeavors to address those barriers that stand between a child in need and the opportunity to learn and succeed.
As grassroots philanthropy, we are able to move quickly to initiate and support critically needed services, like food backpack programs, in school oral hygiene, at-risk substance abuse and mental health, warmth and daily necessities, enrichment and literacy, innovative education and life-changing scholarships. We work very closely with the educational systems and organizations that provide the social services so critical to achieving our mission. Visit us to learn more at strattonfoundation.org.
