Tanya Cherie Moore was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. Despite her lifelong battle against sickle cell disease and most recently, lung cancer, she would go above and beyond to put a smile on her family’s face and to help a friend in need. Tanya’s story is one of strength, perseverance and faith.
Like 100,000 Americans living with this illness, Tanya spent many days in physical pain and at hospitals seeking treatment, ranging from pain management to blood transfusions. Today, there is no cure for sickle cell disease and sickle cell anemia, which primarily affect African-Americans and Hispanic-Americans.
In honor of our loved one’s legacy, we invite you to contribute to a cause she was personally affected by and advocated for. Your memorial donation will support the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America's national efforts to advocate for better treatments and increased research funding for a cure, and provide education to patients, their families, and medical professionals. Your donation is also tax deductible.
From our family to yours, thank you for your love and support during this difficult time.
