Many of you have seen the announcement by the City of Tallahassee last week the they will be bringing Ed Sutton and Trail Dynamics (TD) back to town to do some much needed trail refresh in Tom Brown Park (Cadillac and Magnolia). We are very excited that Ed and his TD team are coming back to town. In addition to rehabilitating our trails, TD will be working alongside the City's Trail Crew and educating them on current best practices in Trail Building, Design and Maintenance. The City has committed the resources to keep TD here for 2 weeks of work that will start in April.
The Tallahassee Mountain Bike Association (TMBA) has decided to step up and raise $15,000 to keep TD here for an additional week of much needed trail work. This money will go directly into Ed and his crew of 4 as they work to get our trails back to where they need to be. Their work will be focused on the City trails in Tom Brown Park and Red Bug. We have worked with the City Parks Department and they are enthusiastic about us raising money to keep TD here an extra week and will address it in the contract they will sign with TD.
Trail Dynamics has been to Tallahassee before, they redesigned Cadillac, Magnolia and Red Bug about 10 years ago. They know the town, the trails and the local culture and are the perfect fit to come back and do it again. They are world class trail builders, you can find out more info on them here: https://traildynamics.homestead.com
Please consider donating to this worthwhile cause, every little bit will matter as we try to reach our goal of $15,000 by the end of March! We have many trail users in Tallahassee that are not mountain bikers, we hope they will consider giving as well as we all work towards better trails for all!
