TAKE POWER OVER PARKINSON’S
It’s estimated that 7 to 10 million people worldwide are living with Parkinson’s disease (PD), a chronic neurodegenerative condition.
While research shows that consistent exercise specifically designed for PD is key in helping individuals with the disease manage their symptoms, many individuals lack the critical resources needed to participate in these types of activities—like yoga, boxing, tai chi or cycling.
At The Recovery Project, we believe all individuals living with Parkinson's disease should have access to exercise and wellness programs to promote optimal health and independence. That’s why we decided to start the "Take Power Over Parkinson's" annual event.
Our first event in 2018 was a HUGE success, raising nearly $12,000. So, this year, we have decided to step up our game and raise $20,000!!!
The funds raised will allow those living with PD to be able to participate in any wellness program of their choice. Regardless of whether they participate in programs at The Recovery Project or somewhere else, the key is to keep moving!
All proceeds go to the Mary and Charles A. Parkhill Foundation and will then be distributed to individuals with PD to help cover the cost of participation in the wellness programs of their choice.
