Hello! We are the sixth graders in Ms. Benson's ELA classes at Rombout Middle School, and this entire project started when we decided we wanted to make a difference. When we learned about Grace Smith House we invited them to come into our classroom and talk with us about domestic violence and bullying. Grace Smith House came in twice, and in those two visits we learned so much about their organization, bullying, and domestic violence. Once we had learned more about domestic violence, we wanted to educate others about it, too. Our goal is to help people who have gone through or are currently experiencing any forms of domestic violence or bullying. We hope to collect money, clothing, food and personal hygiene items for them. Our whole class came together to work on many projects that can help people in need, and educate people on domestic violence and bullying. Whether we are victims, witnesses, or just looking to support others, we can all help to make a difference! Check out some of our work and let’s take a stand and lend a hand! Thank you!
Love,
Ms. Benson's Students :)
