Partner Organization:The Global Health Network of Uganda (GHNU) works to promote public health and well-being through several community-based initiatives in northern Uganda.
Project Description:Syracuse University's Nourish International Chapter is excited to support GHN(U) for the sixth consecutive year! This year, we are specifically supporting summer Maternal and Child Health Outreach Projects. Donations received during this Giving Challenge will directly fund their Village Health Team with bicycles, ID tags, shirts, and bags. This project will also provide HIV test kits, vaccines, syringes, de-wormers, and Mama Kits for individuals and communities in the Oyam district of Uganda.
About the Partner:GHN(U) is a charity nonprofit organization founded by a network of international researchers and health activists. It works to promote health and improve life among community members through providing wrap-around services. GHN(U) believes that the best way to achieve health for all is through community-based innovations that enhance local capacity to prevent disease, as well as through the strengthening of local governance to ensure sustainability. Currently this organization is working in the Oyam district to support health and livelihood activities.
About Nourish International:Nourish International is a 501(c)(3) community-based program designed to sustain leaders who are change agents for the future. Through coaching, community building, and learning by doing, Nourish nurtures the skills, self-awareness, and confidence for students to become social impact leaders. This year, our Syracuse University chapter is focusing on building communities and partnerships locally and globally. We are supporting our Oyam community with the support of GHNU as well as working with various social impact groups and organizations in the Syracuse area.
Please consider donating to help us achieve our goal! The impacts of this project extend far beyond those directly involved. Every donation, big or small, will get us one step closer! Thank you for supporting our chapter’s mission!
