Hi all! I hope that you are in very good health. I want you to know that I am very grateful for the support you are giving me and Jose. The truth is that this is a great support since with this pandemic that is all left without work, my father would not have been able to continue paying the monthly payment. You all have too big a heart, since you think of the good of others and not only yourselves, you are very good people & thank you very much for this support. ❤️️ Take good care of yourselves and blessings to all. ❤️
A THANK YOU FROM SERENA
Over the many years of going to Lomas, I have had the pleasure of watching the development of the school and the kids there, in particular Aideth and Jose: 2 kids who are not as fortunate as all of us, and were never even given close to the same opportunities that we have here. To be specific, they did not have the ability to get a proper education, and therefore, to be able to dream about the possibilities in their future.
As you all know, we have been running a fundraising initiative to support Aideth and Jose's education for the upcoming school year. I am beyond thrilled to announce that we have officially reached our goal of $2,000 and well surpassed it!! With nearly doubling our original goal, I wanted to thank everybody for your endless support and help in this initiative. We couldn't have done it without you !
I am so grateful to each of you as this is our very first GoFundMe campaign, and it turned out to be so successful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Wow! Thank you donors for helping us exceed our original goal and funding Aideth and Jose's education for this year. The other Lomas children can still use your help. Any extra funds received will be used to help pay for another Lomas student's high school tuition.
At the beginning of this campaign, I challenged myself to donating an equal amount plus $10 to the highest donation made on our journey to reach our goal. The highest amount donated to date is $260 by John Amendola. I am making a $270 donation in the name of our 2KWL youth group of volunteers who have been and continue to be my inspiration on this beautiful journey – Making a difference, putting smiles on the faces of the Lomas kids and by giving them a fighting chance for a better future through decent education. For millions of underprivileged children around the world, unlike in Canada, it is an almost unattainable dream for them to be able to go to school and at least be able to read and write at the elementary level. If things were not already bad enough, the COVID-19 global pandemic has eroded much of the hope these children held onto.
2 Kids With Love (2KWL) is a 5 year young registered Canadian Charity doing amazing work at Lomas Del Valle, a small, rural community near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The heart and soul of 2KWL are young Canadian kids whose desire has been to help needy kids obtain at least a very basic elementary level education in a dignified, safe and healthy educational environment. In partnership with Fundacion Ahora es Tiempo de Dar (FATD), 2KWL has made a difference to the lives of numerous children at Lomas Del Valle, fulfilling dreams and giving them HOPE.
Now 16 years old, Serena Toscani, a founding member of 2KWL, is one of the youngest of a group of dedicated Canadian teenagers who have been doing volunteer work in Lomas in the past 5 years. These young volunteers are exceptional and inspiring, giving from the heart without any expectation of a reward or remuneration of any kind. Why? These young Canadians understand that their lives are truly blessed and that so many other children around the world do not have nearly the same opportunities.
In 2014, Serena first met Aideth and Jose at Lomas and a special bond was formed almost immediately. Fast forwarding to today, Serena has learned that the two Lomas Del Valle students are now experiencing serious financial and other difficulties in trying to continue with their next level of education. Unfortunately, that is the current, sad reality for most of the kids that have graduated with an elementary education at Lomas and other similar communities.
Serena is determined to help Aideth and Jose by raising at least Cdn $2000 to pay for their next year's tuition. Her wish and long-term goal is to establish a permanent funding program providing scholarships to other deserving elementary school graduates like Aideth and Jose. Any donations received over the Cdn $2000 goal will be used to fund future scholarships.
Without our collective support, these kids would have little to no hope for a prosperous future. Join with our 2KWL team to help make a diffference. Your donation, no matter how small, will make a huge impact in the life of a child.
