Poppy’s recent life has been full of painful and costly surgeries. Poppy was found as a stray on a secluded country road full of coyotes. Westside Animals for Adoption (WAA – nonprofit 501 (c) 3) rescued this survivor and quickly realized she had embedded foxtails. WAA rushed Poppy to the vet for emergency surgery as embedded foxtails can be life threatening for a dog. Soon after Poppy would need 3 more surgeries to eliminate additional embedded foxtails and the destruction they had left behind in Poppy’s body. Even more unfortunate she developed MRSA which is a bacterial infection that is resistant to most antibiotics. WAA is a very small limited resource rescue that is doing our best to help Poppy. Poppy has a will to live, like we have never seen before and we are trying to honor her will to live the very best we can thus the multiple expensive surgeries (over $4,000 thus far). Money that is raised will go towards her medical bills and is so very much appreciated in our journey to save Poppy’s life. We hope this last surgery will be her last and final surgery. If all goes well, sweet Poppy will be available for adoption by February month end!
