PLEASE HELP ME RAISE FUNDS IN ORDER TO PRESENT GRANTS TO SUPPORT POST-ACUTE CARE FOR SURVIVORS OF TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURIES (TBI). WE ARE MANAGED 100% BY VOLUNTEERS TO ENSURE THE MONEY WE RAISE GOES TO OUR MISSION. THANK YOU!
Six years ago, I experienced a major accident involving several significant physical injuries, as well as a TBI. The acute medical care was outstanding! I was air-lifted to Shock Trauma in Baltimore where I underwent several successful surgeries.
The TBI was by far the most difficult disability to accept. For 12 months following acute inpatient rehabilitation, I received outpatient physical, occupation, and speech (brain) therapies. The scariest part was that after being discharged from outpatient therapy, I HAD NO CLUE WHAT TO DO, WHO TO ASK, OR WHERE TO GO IN ORDER TO OBTAIN ADDITIONAL SUPPORT RELATED TO THE TBI.
My goal is to assist TBI survivors to overcome the challenges they face in their long-term recovery. To this end, in July 2016 I launched the HobbleJog Foundation. Five grants supporting post-acute TBI care were presented in our first 2 ½ years. Recipients were:
1. LifeBridge Health Brain Injury Services, Baltimore MD
2. Brain Injury Association of North Carolina
3. College Technology Support Grant for 17-year old accepted to college
4. Love Your Brain grant helped to bring this program to Maryland
5. Brain Injury Association of Maryland
HobbleJog Foundation supports teens and young adults recovering from neurological trauma, inspriring them to reach their full potential.
Thank you again for your support. SUSAN HAHN
