GrowNYC: Fight Hunger & Protect the Environment
Since the coronavirus pandemic hit New York City, GrowNYC has responded swiftly to the needs of our communities across the five boroughs.
We've worked hard to keep our Greenmarkets, Farmstands, and Fresh Food Box sites safe and open to the public. We also launched a free Emergency Food Box program for low income, undocumented, unemployed, or otherwise struggling New Yorkers who need food for their families.
All these programs source food from regional farmers who are also struggling, unable to market their products in the current environment. With your help, their produce will go to hungry New Yorkers in need, instead of rotting in the fields.
Your gift matched to support New Yorkers facing hunger and regional farmers in jeopardy.
Bank of America is providing a guaranteed match of $250,000 to help GrowNYC raise critical funds for all of our programs that will help New Yorkers throughout this pandemic.
The current crisis has illuminated many of the inequities that GrowNYC has sought to address for five decades: a system that prevents many of our city's most vulnerable citizens from accessing services that are basic human rights, like fresh food, education, green spaces and more.
GrowNYC has been around for the last 50 years, and with your help, we will continue to be a resource for all New Yorkers who want to improve quality of life and protect the environment in our city.
Thank you for your support.
