Scooby is a five month old puppy that is currently living at a county shelter in San Diego, CA. At a mere five months old, Scooby has been through a lot. He has suffered severe abuse and neglect at the hands of people that were supposed to care for and love him. At his previous home, Scooby sustained a debilitating injury that has healed improperly, resulting in a lot of pain. According to the veterinarian at the shelter, Scooby will need to see an orthopedic surgeon before a final decision can be made about how to best help him. There is concern that Scooby will likely need his leg amputated.
Scooby's Current Medical concerns (per the shelter):
1. Previous SX R humerus, inappropriate healing
2. Hyperextended L carpus
3. Kennel cough
Despite all of the abuse and neglect, Scooby is a happy and playful pup, but he deserves a pain free life. He deserves that forever home that he should have already had. Unfortunately, due to the anticipated cost of his medical bills, neither the shelter, nor local rescues can help him, without help from you. We have a volunteer that has offered to take him in and care for him through his entire medical process, but without donations for his medical needs, we can not take him in.
Please help us, help this sweet boy get the care he needs an on the road to a life he so deserves. We understand times are tough for everyone right now, so any amount you can give to help Scooby is appreciated beyond words.
* Any donations raised that go above our estimated cost for Scooby, will be added to our medical account to pay down past medical expenses, and / or help to cover future medical costs.
