Our police officers need your support more than ever! Today, the intense physical, psychological and emotional stress that our officers face is at an all-time high. This not only affects the well-being of our officers; the anxiety and burden are shared by their families, making it even more difficult for them to focus on protecting our community.
Many people in the city and throughout the country have turned their backs on the men and women in blue. Fortunately, our officers have not turned their backs on us! They remain committed and focused on protecting you and your family, no matter the challenges they’re facing right now.
The Louisville Metro Police Foundation is an independent, private nonprofit organization committed to making Louisville a safer place to live, work and visit by taking care of the men and women who put their lives on the line every day to protect our city and its citizens. We are the only organization authorized to raise funds on behalf of our officers.
Money raised does NOT go to the police department’s general budget. Nor does it go to the city of Louisville. Every dollar we collect goes directly to support initiatives that will positively impact the lives of our men and women in blue – so they can continue to positively impact our community.
Due to COVID-19 and the current events facing our community and the country, all of our signature fundraising events and activities have been cancelled. We are asking that you consider making a donation through this page.
If you want to remain anonymous, this is a safe and private platform to support the Foundation’s efforts without calling attention to you and/or your business.

Reflect on What It’s Like to Be a Police Officer Today
Imagine not being able to work from home during the COVID-19 crisis but having to show up to serve those who have COVID-19 or something even worse.
Imagine every day of work involved encountering people on the worst days of their lives.
Imagine trying to get a baby to breathe while his mother cries out for her.
Imagine trying to stop the blood from a gunshot wound of a child you’re trying to save.
Imagine sacrificing by not being with your daughter on her birthday, not opening gifts on Christmas morning with your family, or not enjoying Thanksgiving dinner with your parents because you’re out patrolling to ensure everyone can enjoy these special moments.
Imagine your wife being threatened with rape and your kids with death because of the badge you wear.
Imagine being despised by an entire country because the career you chose, trained, tested and fought to attain is being universally vilified even though you’ve done everything right and love what you do.
Imagine you are a police officer with a spouse or child who is a different color than you, yet you’re called a racist and treated disrespectfully.
Imagine that you understand and agree with the people who are pushing for positive change and reform while they greet you by spitting on you, by hitting you with rocks and bottles and by throwing bodily fluids at you.
Finally, imagine what life in this community would be like without the men and women who have pledged, trained and sacrificed to protect it, no matter how dangerous or disparaged that mission can be.
