Please help CDL's future be possible....
It has been a true privilege to provide high quality STEAMM programs to youth, families, and school partners across the state of RI. We have been on this journey of service to the community for almost 20 years. We want to be here for you in 20 more years. However, we are facing uncertain times with the disruption of livelihood due to Covid-19. On March 13th, we made the heartbreaking decision to suspend all of our programs and postpone indefinitely our upcoming performances of the Jungle Book (this includes TWO high school residency program in engineering for 75 students, after school science programs, rehearsals for 10 schools and 20 performances, April Mechatronics camp, and daily programs for 150 youth in Providence) as well as lay off 10 part-time staff members.
The health and safety of our youth, families, community and CDL team are of the utmost importance. We also want to continue to be here for you when things get better. To do that, we need to stay on track, so we can support our team and their families and get our summer education and workforce programs and next season ready for you.
Despite this temporary shut-down, CDL is attempting to continue to pay our remaining team members whose livelihoods depend on the services we provide to the community. At the same time, however, we can no longer rely upon anticipated ticket and program revenue, – 60% of CDL’s operating budget comes from program and ticket revenue.
It is impossible to cancel weeks of programming without creating serious and long lasting hardships for the CDL team and family members.
