Many people in the Roanoke Valley are currently unemployed, or underemployed due to cut hours, and they are uninsured and ineligible for unemployment. At Casa Latina, we are trying to address the urgent need for food that some families are experiencing due to these circumstances. We are collaborating with some of the local grocery stores to provide basic food supplies, such as rice, beans, oil, tortillas, lentils, and so on. With $16 we can provide those items, and the grocery stores also contribute food. We are doing drive-through services to observe social distancing, and to keep families safe. In the past, we have supplied food each week for a total of 210 people.
Thank you for your support for a vulnerable community in a time of need!
