Black Girls Do Broadway! is a performing arts program that fosters community, instills confidence, and nurtures creativity for girls of color in Philadelphia and surrounding areas under Arts without Boundaries, a fiscally sponsored organization.
(Fiscal sponsor is FNC a non-profit based in Philadelphia, PA)
A recent report by Georgetown Law Center for Poverty and Inequality found that African American girls feel negative stereotypes as angry, aggressive, and hyper-sexualized are projected onto them in school.
Our safe space aims to counter these negative messages by providing African American girls the opportunity to be a part of a creative environment, a like-minded community of their peers, and be mentored by their instructors through classes on performing arts, leadership, health, and nutrition.
Your donation will assist us in making sure we maintain the quality of Black Girls Do Broadway! which includes;
Paying teaching artist/instructors
Providing a showcase at the end of the program for family, friends and their communities.
Providing healthy snacks during programming.
Keeps tuition affordable so all girls who are interested can attend Black Girls Do Broadway!
Will you consider helping us make a difference in the lives of these special girls by becoming a donor?
Any amount you give will help us get towards our goal and provide a unique and much-needed experience for our girls.
