Donate today and help provide young people across the country with organizing tools to support the struggle for farmworker justice.
For nearly 15 years, the Student/Farmworker Alliance Encuentro convening has been an integral part of SFA's solidarity organizing alongside the Coalition of Immokalee Workers. Through educational workshops, tailored regional strategizing, and relationship building, students across the country learn how they can support the organizing efforts of farmworkers and the redistribution of power down the food supply chain into the hands of the people who put food on our tables.
This year’s theme, Piecing Together Justice, emphasizes the connections we all must make between the different elements of our organizing – whether that it is showing up for Black lives, defunding the police, migrant justice, Indigenous soverignty, redistribution of wealth, climate justice, or fighting to end sexual harassment and forced labor in U.S. agriculture. When we begin to connect the ways in which our struggles interact and touch each other, we can start building the world we want to see.
All funds donated through this campaign will go directly to offsetting the cost of providing 2020 SFA Encuentro participants with organizing guides and resources to enter a weekend of learning and strategizing in solidarity with farmworkers. Due to COVID-19 distance participation, our goal is to physically mail toolkits to young organizers across the country who will be integral in growing SFA’s organizing efforts on-the-ground in their home regions.
Please consider donating! If you have access to wealth, consider sponsoring a student’s participation at the Encuentro for $25 , and help make this event as accessible as possible.
Thank you for supporting youth empowerment and farmworker justice!
