I'm Winnie and I am raising funds to attend Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance’s (APALA) Organizing Institute in Washington D.C. Last summer, I was fortunate to intern at APALA’s national office, where I was exposed to labor union organizing and APALA’s role to advance immigrant, worker, and civil rights in ways that center around building Asian American Pacific Islander worker power. I grew up in a union household, so I have seen the many ways that unions continue to contribute to my family’s health and economic livelihood. It inspired me to join union organizing to empower the voice, presence, and ability of working class people. By attending APALA's Organizing Institute in Washington D.C. this August, I want to gain labor union organizing skills and learn to organize workers in ways that are more conscious and prioritize the worker experiences. Please help me pursue my aspiration to be a union organizer. I’m asking my community for a small donation that will help me attend the organizing institute. This event means a lot to me because I believe that all workers, especially the most marginalized of workers, deserve good wages, quality working conditions, and dignity. Thank you in advance for your contribution and your support!
