We're fundraising to support the People's Preparatory Charter School Track team! Contributions will cover numerous expenses for student-athletes, including the cost of team swag, equipment, racing spikes, and more. Since 2011, People’s Prep has successfully provided a high-performing, college-preparatory high school for Newark students and their families. Three years ago, People's Prep expanded to include Indoor and Outdoor Track. This year, we have more students participating in Track than ever before!
Please read this special message from Head Coach, Morgan Clark:
We are very proud of all that we have accomplished in the short time since the Track program began. This includes highlights such as: a 4th place overall finish in NJ for the indoor 55m dash; 1st place in the 4x100m relay, 55m, and100m at State Sectionals; Group 1 State Champions in the 100m; Group 1 State Champions in the indoor 55m; and qualifying athletes for the NJ Meet of Champions every season. In the 2017-2018 Indoor and Outdoor Track seasons, PPCS had 11 male and female students qualify for the Group 1 State Championship in 4 different events. With your support, our program will be able to continue growing!
We also have former student-athletes who are competing in Track at the collegiate level. Some of these students never participated in Track until it began at People's Prep. We hope to continue to instill this love of Track in more of our students, and hopefully give more students the opportunity to compete in college.
We often find ourselves providing our students with water, healthy snacks, practice gear, racing spikes, and running shoes. Many times this has been money that has had to come directly out of students' and coaches' pockets. We want to continue to have a successful Track program that can compete at any level with any school in the state of New Jersey, and your support will allow us to achieve this goal.
