The OMS PTSO is sponsoring a fundraiser on behalf of the OMS Drama Club. One week before the show, this year’s annual OMS Spring Musical was tragically cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After rehearsing Alice in Wonderland Jr. since October, the students were devastated that they would not be able to perform. Thankfully, the students were able to come together to put on a virtual musical titled: The Show Must Go Online! After weeks of rehearsing and recording, they want to share this with you all to lift your spirits and display the hard work of these amazing student performers!
Unfortunately, because they were not able to sell a single ticket, our small, self-funded drama department did not bring in any of the funds they were expecting to take in at the door, and still had to pay all of their bills in full. This loss of thousands of dollars leaves them in a very difficult financial situation, as they currently do not have enough money remaining in the budget to purchase scripts and performance licenses for the next show, let alone the costumes, lights, and props that can make a theatrical performance truly magical.
During this time, we know that there are a lot of causes that are worthy of your donations. If you were planning to attend the Spring musical or you enjoyed watching the virtual performance of The Show Must Go Online, please consider a donation to the drama department through PTSO. Tickets were $5 students/$10 for adults but donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated. We hope to raise enough money to cover the costs of next year’s drama performance so that our students will be able to get back out there on the stage and share the best parts of themselves with us.
Please share this cause with your family and friends!
