The First Tee of Howard County helps young people in our community become better golfers, but even more importantly, better people, by using golf as a tool for teaching life skills like confidence, perseverance and integrity.
Many do not realize that registration fees only cover about 20 percent of costs for our high-quality, low-cost programs. Each year we must raise more than $200,000 to fulfill our promise to provide mentorship, character development and golf instruction.
Will you help us meet our goal by making a donation today?
We work hard on keeping our expenses low:
• Our paid staff is small, with just a couple of part-time employees and a dedicated volunteer board of directors who manage the bulk of our fundraising efforts.
• About half of our coaches are volunteers dedicated to mentoring and teaching golf. Training for coaches is an investment, and one that sets us apart from other junior golf programs.
• The Columbia Association donates the golf facility at Fairway Hills, including utilities and internet costs. That's a huge savings on overhead costs for us.
Your support is vital to ensuring youth in our community have high-quality, affordable after-school programs available. Please consider donating making a donation today.
