Jachindra Parida is a 72-year-old who lived in Sualon village in Shagadailo panchayat in Niali block of Cuttack district in Odisha. For some inexplicable reasons, his ration card had been cancelled almost three years ago. He used to make a living as a cook in festivals and events in the surrounding rural areas. With the lockdown, he lost his livelihood and was on the verge of starvation when volunteers of Gramin Sevak Samaj found him after learning about it from newspaper reports. Thanks to our small support of a bag of rations, Jachindra could survive the day! He is just one of several hundred families SEEDS with its partner NGOs and volunteers in Odisha have been able to help out with initial financial support from the Association for India’s Development and now we (SEEDS) are raising the funds ourselves, with your support!
We are raising funds to enable our ~50 volunteers to help the neediest among several villages and towns in Odisha during this horrific pandemic/COVID19. They provide provisions, meds, protective items, and moral support to the forgotten and voiceless!
