The Greater Gwinnett Christian Barons was founded in 1993 to meet the needs of the homeschool community for athletics. As a 501c3, we operate without profit, and we are led by a group of parent volunteers. Our main goal is to point young men to Christ through the game of baseball.
With the alternative schooling options these days, we are seeing a rise in athletics outside of the traditional brick-and-mortar school setting. Our students are homeschooled, attend a hybrid, or attend an alternative school that does not have a baseball program. We strive to differentiate ourselves from the commercial baseball "businesses" by not only providing excellent coaching, instruction and competition but cultivating a God-honoring environment as we point players to Christ.
Unlike public or private schools we do not have land, facilities, a large budget, or a booster club. We pay for field space, batting cages, umpires, baseballs, uniforms, and travel-all at our own expense.
The ultimate goal of the Barons is to grow young men in their faith and continue to use their gifts and talents beyond the baseball field. Your prayers and financial support are greatly appreciated. Our goal for 2021 is to raise funds for new equipment, field time and to establish a scholarship fund for players in need.
