My name is Heber Oliva medical student from Honduras. I currently have the enormous privilege of being a member of an international team of the world's largest medical student organization and as Internal Development Assistant of SCOPE (World's Longest Medicine Exchange Program) and an international member of IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Students Association)
My last years of studies and personal life have been a huge challenge for many reasons, but to my surprise after applying to an organization representing 1.2 million medical students worldwide and before more than 540 applications I was selected to attend both events as part of the World Health Assembly, in Geneva, Switzerland.
About Youth Pre and World Health Assembly Workshop
IFMSA has been the official representative of medical students in the World Health Organization (WHO) since 1969, which has given our federation the unique opportunity to send an annual delegation of young people to the World Health Assembly ( WHA). The WHA is the highest decision-making body of WHO; It is carried out immediately after the workshop.
As a young person I can not be simply an observer, my voice needs to be listening and I know that this event will serve empowerment and motivation to be an agent of change in a country that needs it so much.
I see myself as a global health advocate and I know that this will only be the start of many ideas and activities in which as a future doctor who believes in an accessible health system can be involved.
