In Uganda, Street Child supports capacity-building projects and programs for two organizations that aim to expand economic and educaetional opportunities for child and adult refugees within the major urban slum in Kampala, and that support growing women refugees's agency within the settlements themselves.
Your donation is especially needed ahead of escalating electoral violence before the general elections in the DRC, taking place this December 23, for which there is an expected rise in the number of refugee arrivals who will inevitably, and already are, fleeing into Uganda. Please consider giving to this excellent organization that I will be working for the next 3-6 months! I trust this organization and how they have decided to adapt their program to meet the needs of the global refugee movement. All of the work is done with local partner organizations, who have been on the ground for much longer, and only after many, many evaluations of the education gaps and challenges that need to be met!
