Introducing, Seed of Love's first ever interns! Meet Sharnelle (senior) and Yheslie (sophomore). For the past month, these young women have been dedicating their time each week to the land, animals and self-growth. As part of our scholarship program, Sharnelle and Yheslie are putting in hours towards a SOL scholarship to help fund their upcoming school trip: visiting colleges on the East Coast. Our goal is to provide opportunities for community service, skill development and sustainable practices. By completing the internship hours, the interns will be given a scholarship to help offset travel costs for their upcoming school trip. If you wish to support this program and see it expand, so we can assist as many students as possible, please consider donating to Seed of Love. If we want to believe in a brighter future we must believe in our youth today.
Get to know our interns:
Sharnelle- Hi my name is Sharnelle and I'm a Senior, 12th grader this year. My favorite school subject is art because I'm passionate when it comes to drawing and painting. I like to eat a variety of meat, especially fish and Chicken Katsu. I would say chocolate but It is considered my favorite treats or sweets. Since this is my last year of high school, my plan once I graduate is to go to college and major in visual arts. My career choice is to be a Graphic Designer or an Illustrator and use most of my work to create something new such as a new game. Traveling is one of my greatest interests. So if I was to be given a free ticket to go anywhere in the world then my first choice will be Paris, France. One of my hobbies that I have mentioned earlier is that I like to draw & paint, read fantasy/fiction novels, listen to music, and dance. Being adventurous I would also like to travel, swim or dive. Now my favorite part of being an intern for SOL is the animals that we get to meet everyday. Working along side with people that I know and trust or even meeting new people. Especially how working in the field makes me feel calm and peaceful from all the stress.
Yheslie- My Favorite weekend activity is sleeping in and watching movies. My favorite core subject is English or Science, but my favorite school subject is Digital Media Tech. My favorite food is Pork & Peas. My dream goal would have to be attending NYU (New York University) and later working for an internet media and news company, like Buzzfeed. If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would go to Japan. My hobbies include photography, video editing, and exploring. My favorite part of being a Seed Of Love intern is getting to see all the adorable animals every week, helping out on the farm and being able to watch all the plants that I've planted grow.
Mahalo for your support and donations!
