The REquipment Durable Medical Equipment Reuse Program is a great way to obtain free, gently used durable medical equipment (DME) in Massachusetts. Donated DME is sanitized, refurbished and made available in our inventory. Access to our equipment is easy, either online at dmereuse.org or by phone, and we provide pick-up and delivery as needed.
But with the pandemic hitting the Massachusetts economy the state has not passed a budget for the next fiscal year. Our funder, the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, can only commit to a 6-month contract and at a significantly reduced amount from last fiscal year. The net result is an 80% reduction in REquipment’s funding. As you can imagine we are scrambling to keep our doors open, to continue accepting equipment donations, and turn badly needed DME back into the community. This is a make-or-break-moment for REquipment and we are asking for your help. Please contribute what you can so that we can provide seniors, people with disabilities including children and veterans with needed power and manual wheelchairs, portable ramps, tub and bath seats, adapted strollers, rollators and so much more.
