Addiction is a disease of isolation. The pandemic makes everything worse.
Renz Addiction Counseling Center is dedicated to empowering individuals to lead healthier lives, and our work continues during COVID-19. Individuals in recovery are struggling with the isolation forced upon them by social distancing restrictions, leaving them more likely to fall back into patterns that make them more likely to use. Because of COVID-19, individuals in recovery are finding:
More depression and anxiety
Difficulty in getting daily dosing of critical therapeutic drugs
Limited socialization, reducing peer pressure needed to decrease substance abuse
Difficulty in seeking proper medical help for Covid-19 symptoms, which can be masked by withdrawal
We have helped individuals with substance use disorders since 1961, and will continue encouraging, treating, and caring for our clients even when we can't always see them face-to-face.Your gift will help provide immediate financial support for our telehealth services, allowing clients to see counselors both individually and in group settings over HIPAA-compliant conference services. It will also provide support for our general operating costs to see clients in-person, on a modified basis, for assessments, toxicology screens, and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
