With your help we can raise $25,000 and provide 240 students with lifetime access to clean safe water and electricity.
We all know what it is like when a storm knocks out power temporarily or a fuse blows, it is inconvenient, but it seldom happens and is quickly fixed. Imagine losing power all the time and never knowing exactly when it will be back on?
Now, add in the fact that some days you can’t access fresh water – maybe because the electricity that powers your pump is out or maybe it is because the place that you get your water from has been depleted by the community and their livestock before you can get there.
This is exactly what the 240 students at Lerata Primary School deal with every day, all while trying simply to go to school in order to gain a life-changing education.
Located in the drought prone, semi-arid region of Samburu, Kenya the school building is old and suffers from an outdated and corroding electrical system. With only a partial connection to the local Kenya Power grid, this unreliable source severely diminishes students access to their books and the library. So, when the power is out, everything is turned off— learning too.
The good news is this problem is solvable. All we need is your help!
By raising $25,000 we can literally turn their lives around.
We will have a well that is close to school with safe drinking water and install solar panels that will turn the scorching, Kenyan sun into year-round, reliable electricity.
This means they will never be stuck in the dark again.
We know that initiatives like this work, because we have done it two times before. They are life-changing in the most fundamental of ways. Now we are asking you to help us do this for the third time and help the deserving children at Lerata Primary School.
We know that with your support we can raise $25,000 within the next 30 days and literally transform lives!
We are a predominantly volunteer-run organization that has no corporate donors and rely on the generous support of individuals just like you.
Please help us by making a tax-free donation and sharing our story so we can continue to deliver on our promise to help the children of Samburu live up to their greatest potential.
