Kellogg's EW India Business Club is proud to support Pratham and give children of India an opportunity to learn.
Of the 250 million children worldwide who cannot read or write, 100 million reside in India. We believe that every child can learn if given the right support. We create high-quality, low-cost learning opportunities to transform academic achievements, self-confidence and life trajectories.
About PRATHAM : Established in the slums of Mumbai in 1995, Pratham is one of the largest and most successful non-governmental education organizations in India, has delivered quality education programming to 75 million children in 25 years. To achieve our mission of “every child in school and learning well", we collaborate with governments, communities, parents, teachers, and volunteers focusing on practical and innovative solutions to address gaps in the education system.
Recognizing that illiteracy and poverty are intrinsically linked, Pratham uses education to open the door to opportunity and empower communities. Our programs have made impact over the years. Program evaluation showed that after only six to eight weeks of instruction in Pratham learning camp, close to 80% of children can read fluently and are able to confidently do basic arithmetic.
COVID Response: Pratham’s experience in foundational learning and EdTech along with its strong community network across India has allowed it to pivot quickly and effectively during the pandemic. Through their remote learning initiative, fun learning activities are shared via WhatsApp or SMS to ensure learning continues across 10,000+ communities in India.
In addition to this, Pratham has partnered with 14 state governments and 500+ NGOs to share its vast digital repository. You can take a look at how Pratham has adapted its programs as a response to the COVID pandemic at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mz-WUH-xC_M
Our Request: We want to keep this momentum going.
In the villages where we work, books are rare to non-existent. It only takes $100 to give 5 children an opportunity to learn. Your support today is crucial for this effort. Please consider making a donation today and JOIN US IN SPREADING FREEDOM FROM ILLITERACY!
Together we can break the cycle of illiteracy and poverty one child at a time. Because from educated youth, come prosperous communities.
