2021 Goals and Needs
The Lower Chippewa Invasives Partnership, Inc. (LCIP) will be entering their 10th year of educating, outreaching and controlling invasive plants in the West Central Wisconsin region. We are finishing well in 2020 even through the current restrictions and challenges.
In 2020 we started a citizen based monitoring program called Invasives Monitoring Program that engaged over 30 volunteers to map and monitor invasive and native species in our roadsides in all five counties we serve. These results will be presented to many township and county highway departments for education and action in 2021 and beyond. We also initiated a woodland owner resource that includes workshops and tours of properties that have had previous efforts and will be making future efforts to slow woodland invasives down. Both of these projects will continue into 2021. You can join us in these efforts and attend a tour as early as next week!
Looking into 2021 we have some challenges in completely funding our budget before the year begins. We hope you can partner with us to maintain us in 2021 as we look to expand the organization further into all five counties with many new and existing initiatives and projects.
Thank you for your ongoing support to "Spread the Word, Not the Plant"
