Back in 2008 I was going through a tough time. Someone I met asked me when was the last time I did something I'd never done before. She was a late blooming triathlete. I decided to do it. I was not a swimmer, nor a biker nor a runner but with a determination I didn't know I had, I prepared and trained. The moment I crossed the finish line was life changing. I realized I could do anything I set my mind to. The girls who participate in the i- tri program are in Middle School, proven over and over to be the most vulnerable stage of life for girls. Low self esteem affects how they think about themselves and react to life situations. I-tri's goal is to help ensure that the trajectory for these girls leads them to find their own strengths and self confidence to suceed throughout life. They learn what I did: that with determination they can achieve anything they want. This is why i-tri is so dear to my heart and why I am so devoted to its success. I know it changes lives. Please help me to support i-tri's program on the East End and bring it to girls all over the country. Thank you!
