The past few weeks have been tough for us all. In response to the outbreak and spread of the COVID-19 and the concerns around the current situation, the museum has to, sadly but inevitably remain closed until further notice. It is certainly not the Spring we hoped for, and certainly not the one you foresaw for yourselves. Yet we want you to know that we are still here to offer you as much as we could, and to ensure your right to continue your cultural life without being hindered by the current circumstances.
For over 50 years, QHS remains committed to preserving, showcasing, and celebrating the history and culture of Queens - the most dynamic borough in New York State. It has always been our belief, as a cultural non-profit that humanities & arts will shine a light on every corner of the world, and proceed with courage and strength to overcome all hardships. Our mission matters even more while facing such difficult and unpredictable financial difficulty sparked by the COVID-19. Despite a massive revenue loss from the closure of our sites, we have a broad range of expenses to cover, including payroll, remote programming, and maintenance. At such a time, we need your support more than ever before!
Kindness cannot be quarantined. We ask for your kindest consideration in supporting QHS to fulfill its mission -- for the present, and the future. We are more than grateful to any amount you can donate. Every cent of your generous giving is put into good use and can make a difference.
It is your support that makes the QHS exist for over five decades, and it will still be your generosity that sustains us to welcome you all again. Until that moment comes, we hope you all stay home and stay safe, and enjoy our online programs and events!
