Foundation 99 is seeking your support to raise sustainable funding for a new program named Velocity 99. This initiative offers a variety of opportunities to support internships, hands-on training, and college scholarships for young adults from underserved communities
About Velocity 99
Velocity 99 is an immersive, master internship program for young adults from underserved communities. Students across the United States compete in a 24-hour STEM competition. Participants have only 24-hours to solve an industry-relevant problem, create an abstract/design & submit to adjudicators. 10 finalists are selected and offered a paid internship with a professional GT4 sportscar team. One student MVP is awarded a college scholarship. V99 interns also receive lifetime access to Foundation 99 financial coaches who help with budgeting, credit score, FAFSA applications, student debt refinancing, and investing.
Velocity 99's 24 Hour STEM competition is a gateway to the future. The U.S. system of STEM education is broken. After billions of dollars spent on uplift, graduation rates in STEM degrees are falling while student debt climbs to historic highs. V99 is a much-needed catalyst for lucrative careers in STEM, which average higher salaries.
The Velocity 99 vision is to eliminate the racial, gender and the socioeconomic gap in STEM fields through experiential learning, hands-on apprenticeships, financial coaching, and technical skills mentoring. By 2025 the Velocity 99 goal is to reach 15,000 under-represented students with 5,000 STEM apprenticeships in the motorsports program.
