Chinatown Day Care Center is a community-based nonprofit educational organization serving NYC children ages 2 to 4. Our mission is to provide high-quality early childhood care and instruction to all students. Our tuition remains the lowest in the city to accommodate hard-working families, therefore we value the generous support from our donors to keep operations running and supplying our classrooms with essential teaching materials.
We are also a bilingual preschool that blends Chinese traditional learning styles with Western teaching styles. Chinese language, customs, and history are infused with our state-regulated curriculum to provide well-rounded education of both cultures.
However, our school was hit hard during the COVID-19 crisis. We were forced to close our doors and cease operation for 4 and half months. Those were very stressful months with no income and mounting bills still needed to be paid. And now, even though we will be opening back up soon, we will not have full capacity in all our classrooms as before the pandemic. Although we will have many new changes in place to prevent the spread of the virus and safeguard the health of our children and staff, many families are understandably worried about their children returning to school. Thus, unfortunately, we will still be at a loss after we reopen.
That is why we are asking for your help. Any donation will help make an impact - sourcing PPE and cleaning products, hiring adequate staffing to provide care and sanitation needs, purchasing more learning materials to reduce sharing of classroom supplies, providing electronics and technical support for remote learning, renovations to ensure social distancing, upkeep of daily operations, and much more. Thank you in advance!
