Our journey began 47 years ago in 1972. What started as a program to provide the children of Columbia University staff with cultural heritage has blossomed into a community-based program to support families from the university, surrounding neighborhoods and beyond - for families in search of a mandarin language and culture program with a warm nurturing culture and progressive classroom approach. A program which endeavors to keep quality high and tuition low, such that cost is not a factor for entry. To accomplish such a lofty goal, our only paid employees are our teaching staff - all administration is done by parent volunteers. Operating on such a "skinny" budget is always a challenge. This year, we have been challenged with some major surprise expenses which were not anticipated when our 2019-2020 budget was created back in January 2019: A $9000+ facility fee, a $3000+ CNY expense and additional assistant teachers. Please help us to maintain our mission, to keep our program affordable and our quality high. We are a full 501(c)3 so your donations will be tax deductible. Thank you and see you on Saturdays in Kent Hall!
