For many of us, our earliest, fondest memories are of being read to by a parent or loved one. But for thousands of limited-resource families in our area, children's books are both expensive and scarce in the neighborhoods where they live. Indeed, studies have found as many 60% of low-income children grow up in homes with no are-appropriate books.
Since 2015, Bright Star Books has been working to create a pipeline of books to those children, taping into the generosity of areas families willing to donate the books they have outgrown, and working directly with agencies and schools that already serve low-income communities to ensure those books are going to the children who need them most.
Your donation of $10 lets Bright Star Books put 5 books into the hands and home of a low-income child. Help us harness the generosity of our community to ensure every child grow up in a home surrounded by the joy and power of books and learning!
