Help us help our community...
COVID-19 has forced us to close the doors of Aurora House Comfort Care Home, a two-bed Hospice Home in Spencerport, NY. Normally, our volunteer caregivers, supported and guided by our paid staff, offer end of life care to our two residents who are moving through the last weeks of their lives. End of Life Care focused on love, compassion, and dignity is our mission. Loved ones are also supported and given TLC so that they can put down the responsibility of caregiving and just be present with their loved one in their final days.
Our residents experiencing quality of life in a loving, compassionate environment. Families and friends visit, spend precious time, remenisce, and find their worries relieved. But, currently families have lost this option because of COVID-19.
Our vital organization is solely supported by donations and fundraisers; we receive no insurance or government support. COVID-19 has completely disrupted our mission, our funding, and our work. We have had to cancel a major fundraiser in April; these funds go directly to our Program costs and operating budget. Times are very tight; we are making it work by being creative, and anxiously await the opportunity to serve our community once again.
Our paid employees (all healthcare professionals) love working in the Hospice model and are heartbroken that they cannot serve this special population. We kindly ask that you join us in supporting our dedicated employees as well as our mission.
Your gift will help provide immediate financial support so that our organization is ready to reopen our doors to serve our community when it is safe to do so. Help us continue creating a loving space for residents, freeing loved ones to share precious days, and ensuring dignified and compassionate care at the end of a life.
