Help us to set our students up for a lifetime of autonomy and success by supporting THEI's re-entry services! We have 15 scholars scheduled to return to their families and communities this year, and we know that our support for them cannot end the moment they step out from behind the bars. Can you make a small contribution today to show that you're rooting for them?
In addition to the direct service THEI provides through the coordination of on-site college programs, THEI also invests resources in bolstering the success of its students beyond the classroom. In the Student Success and Re-Entry Services area of our work, THEI conducts individual meetings with students at least a year in advance of their anticipated release date to create transition plans. These plans include educational and career planning, financial literacy, motivational interviewing, and goal setting. THEI works in tandem with re-entry service providers and housing providers across the state to facilitate these plans. When our students make the transition to a college campus in the free world, we provide them with a laptop, bus pass, and other material resources that make for a meaningful, equitable, enriching college experience.
