As an organization that has been prioritizing hand hygiene for the last seven years, we need to have a presence when crisis strikes in our own backyard. Here are the initiatives we are working hard on, every day in the face of this global pandemic.
In India: Sundar India has partnered with Gabriel Project Mumbai (GPM) to design a public health campaign to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Mumbai. We have donated thousands of bars of soap to the communities we work in and created pamphlets to educate children on critical hand washing and hygiene practices.
In the last week alone:
*We have donated 1000 face masks to police, essential workers and residents.
*We have donated 2000 bars and an additional 200 kilos of soap to the most vulnerable.
* We have built hand washing stations in Dahanu and Saiwan villages for two rural field hospitals.
* We have donated 600 meals to doctors and nurses treating COVID patients over 15 days.
In New York City: We are donating liquid and bar soap products here in NYC, focusing on those living below the federal poverty line. We are also leading an initiative to assist families in Harlem & the Bronx with basic needs, such as diapers, infant formula, cleaning supplies and sanitizing wipes. If you know a family in need living in NYC, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your generousity. We are in this together.
