More than ever before our communities are craving empathetic leaders, that have the grit to reach their ambitious goals and are valuable team members in all they do. We seek leaders who embody self-efficacy; who believe that through their own motivation and behaviors they can accomplish their goals, asking for help and seeking allies along the way.
Skills such as grit, self-awareness, empathy, teamwork, self-efficacy and gratitude are critical building blocks for developing character-driven leaders. In order to gain these skills, Strive provides the tools and space to practice, fail, learn and build towards a solid foundation of leadership.
Sports Challenge is an immersive and transformational nine day academy that does just that. We accomplish this by bringing together high school student-athletes from diverse socioeconomic, geographic and cultural backgrounds, who share every part of every day with people who may be very different from themselves. Immersed in a growth-mindset culture, students debate, compete, develop new skills, celebrate achievements, share meals and personal experiences, embrace and question new concepts — and, of course, sweat! At the end of nine challenging days, our student-athletes leave Sports Challenge better equipped and educated to thrive in an increasingly diverse world.
