Our first student volunteer dedicated 20 hours a week. He wasn't the only one.
Since the start of 2020, COVID-19 has radically transformed the world, our cities, and our personal lives. Hundreds of students across the nation are uniting under the banner of the Bayreach Student Response Initiative to fight against the effects of COVID-19 on our local and national communities.
Eddie was among the first to apply within hours of our launch. Others quickly followed. What started as a student group in the Bay Area quickly expanded to three other states, with hundreds already working and many more interested across the nation.
We need your support. GoFundMe's Charity's matching program will double your donation, so there is no better time to donate than right now.
Well, that's a great question. There are roughly 19.4 million high school students in the United States, and the global threat of the pandemic has shut down a large majority of these schools. Even utilizing just a small fraction of this workforce would bring about much-needed support to many communities.
In addition, students bring forward unique perspectives to address problems in their communities. Shining examples of student activism can be seen, not only from our organization, but also from countless efforts all around the globe of student activism and volunteer service in these unprecedented and dark times.
But we need your help.
If there's one thing students infamously lack, it's money. Your generosity, and the generosity of GoFundMe Charity's matching program, which will match every dollar raised, can enable the impact that students across the nation strive to achieve.
Masks for our heroes, assistance to the elderly and virus-vulnerable populations, much-needed resources for underprivileged students, and student mental health care are just a few of the projects our students have taken up.
